Dr. Richard Collis has been in family practice for over 35 years.
After attending York University, he graduated from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in Toronto.
In addition to seeing patients, Dr. Collis has written many articles on health in newspapers and magazines, has been contracted to perform numerous ergonomic workstation evaluations for corporations and government agencies, and has given hundreds of talks to businesses and organizations on back injury prevention.
He is also the author of the book,
"102 Ways to Reduce and Prevent Back and Neck Pain"
Dr. Collis became a chiropractor as a result of injuring his own back while playing hockey in high school. After seeing numerous health professionals and specialists, it was only a chiropractor who was finally able to help him. It was from that experience, that caused him to want to practice chiropractic as his career.
His mission statement is very simple:
"To provide patients relief from pain,
so that they can return to their daily jobs and activities as quickly as possible."
Dr. Collis and his wife Cathy have been married for over 34 years and live in Willowdale. They have a son Matthew, and a daughter Sara.
When not seeing patients, Dr. Collis can be found reading history, or playing golf, hockey, and drums.
He is a registered member in good standing in the:
Ontario Chiropractic Association,
Canadian Chiropractic Association, and the
College of Chiropractors of Ontario.
